Brea- Brea residents should act quickly to schedule their appointment for tax preparation assistance. Those with lower or modest incomes, students or seniors, can qualify for free help in preparing simple form Federal and State filings. Calls requesting an income tax appointment will be accepted at (714) 990-7150 beginning, Tuesday, January 17.
Appointments are offered on Saturdays through April 14 at the Brea Family Resource Center. Tax-Aide volunteer representatives, who have been trained by the Internal Revenue Service and State Franchise Tax Board, work with clients in private sessions to review documentation and answer questions. Electronic filing is also available to maximize taxpayer efficiency. This popular service fills quickly, so it is highly advisable to call early and request an available time slot between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Individualized tax preparation takes place within the Brea Community Center, located at 695 E. Madison Way. A variety of other useful referral services, including financial counseling, are also available through the Brea Family Resource Center.
